Hole 1 – Up and Over – Par 5 , 479 Yards.
An uphill tee shot straight towards the marker post leaves a second shot you can hit well left as the severe downhill slope kicks the ball towards the deep rough and out of bounds.
Hole 2 -Table Top – Par 4, 356 Yards.
Aim your tee shot way left to avoid the fairway slope taking your ball towards the out of bounds and fairway bunkers.Club up to accommodate the steep uphill gradient when hitting into the green to make sure you carry the front bunker.
Hole 3 – Habberley Valley – Par 4 , 367 Yards.
A really tough tight hole , make sure your tee shot is in play by using the left hand bank to kick your ball into the fairway. The marker post on the left is 110 yards to the green centre. The out of bounds extends from tee to green all the way along the right hand side.
Hole 4 – The Snake – Par 4 306 Yards.
As the name suggests ” The snake ” meanders through the trees requiring a straight rather than long tee shot. If you can hit 180 – 200 yards the banks will bounce the ball into the middle of the fairway. An uphill putt on this incredibly difficult green is vital to avoid the dreaded three putt !
Hole 5 – Twin Peaks – Par 3 , 212 Yards.
This elevated tee shot can easily be caught by the wind swirling in the trees. if the shot spins off right then you will finish blocked out by the trees. Tee shots landing just short will kick off the humps up onto the green.
Hole 6 – Two Tiers – Par 3 , 182 Yards.
It’s a bigger club than you imagine to reach this green, anything short rolls back down the hill. Shorter hitters should consider playing to the bottom of the hill from the tee ensuring a simple second shot onto the green. A deceptive green too so take care !
Hole 7 – Watery End – Par 4 , 352 Yards.
A more open tee shot but don’t relax, any tee shots going left will finish in deep rough and the ball can be lost. Try to avoid the difficult greenside bunkers too. A chance for the big hitters to try to reach the green. Tempted ?
Hole 8 – The Mast – Par 4 , 330 Yards.
A straight hole with fairway bunkers 250 yards from the tee. If your shot into the green lands short it will kick towards the really deep left hand green side bunker,
Hole 9 – Twin Oaks – Par 3 , 224 Yards.
Thread your tee shot between the two large trees on the left and the bunker on the right towards a tricky green where the front level unusually runs away from you.
Hole 10 – Hobday Hill – Par 4 , 401 Yards.
A good tee shot is required over the water on this long hole that plays uphill all the way. The left hand fairway bunker is 220 yards from the tee. There are also two hidden green-side bunkers on the left.
Hole 11 – The Pines – Par 5 , 453 Yards.
Another tee shot over water becomes a birdie chance for the big hitters where a strong tee shot will run down the hill to the left leaving an uphill shot into a flat green. anything left though runs away from the green into a deep bunker or back down the slope.
Hole 12 – Long Tom – Par 4 , 444 Yards.
Aim at the marker post for this uphill tee shot on this long hole. Keep your shots on the left hand side to avoid a deep hidden greenside bunker.
Hole 13 – Bakers Dozen – Par 4 , 238 Yards.
More temptation on this tee shot but watch out ! Danger lurks with the trees on the right where your ball can be easily lost. If you go left though you bring the greenside bunker into play. A deceptive sloping green, have a good look when you place your bag greenside towards the next tee.
Hole 14 – Gorse Valley – Par 3 , 141 Yards.
Wow , a spectacular hole where nothing but a good shot will do. Use a tee, a club you are comfortable with and enjoy the most satisfying view on the course when your ball arrives on the green !
Hole 15 – Bluebell Wood – Par 4 ,329 Yards.
Out of bounds all along this dog leg right hole so if you slice, leave your driver in the bag ! Aim left off the tee to stay in play but try to avoid the fairway bunker. A small green with subtle borrows is protected by one left hand bunker.
Hole 16 – Malvern View – Par 4 , 410 Yards.
Again out of bounds on your right so aim left of the marker post. The 150 yard post is on the gate on the right. Your shot into the green is downhill sloping to the left towards a cavernous left hand bunker ! Another bunker hides aver the back of this green.
Hole 17 – Homeward Bound – Par 4 , 367 Yards.
The right hand fairway bunker, 220 yards from the tee, catches many shots here but that’s still easier than playing from the left hand trees. Any shot landing on the practice ground green receives a free drop. This well protected elevated green has some big borrows to negotiate.
Hole 18 – Clubhouse Drive – Par 3 ,198 Yards.
A dangerous finishing hole in front of the clubhouse with water encroaching the left hand side of the green. A big right to left slope on the green makes your final putt a tricky one.
